Week 7 NFL DFS Sleepers – Top Fantasy Football Value Picks at DraftKings
- Week 7 isn’t a bad week to sell out and pay up for some studs, but you still need value.
- Brian Hoyer is dirt cheap and could end up being one of the top week 7 NFL DFS sleepers.
- Other week 7 fantasy football sleepers include Royce Freeman and Michael Mayer.
Cooper Kupp’s price has gone up. Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce are an appealing stack. And there are a couple of running backs worth paying for.
Week 7 is ugly on paper, but you’ll still want to spend your DraftKings salary on some reliable (and pricey) commodities.
To get there, you do need to save some cash. For some safer plays, be sure to check out my week 7 NFL DFS picks.

Brian Hoyer, QB, Raiders ($4.9k)
Aidan O’Connell is technically in the mix here, as well, but my guess is we see the veteran Hoyer take the field for Las Vegas in week 7.
Hoyer relieved an injured Jimmy Garoppolo last week and put up over 100 yards on just 10 attempts. He’s now likely looking at a start with Jimmy G officially ruled out.
Obviously Hoyer is not a safe play, but he is dirt cheap and gets a terrific matchup against a bad Chicago Bears team.
Chicago’s offense should struggle with Justin Fields also not playing. That should only hurt a Bears defense that is allowing the 4th most points to passers in 2023.
Hoyer isn’t very good, but he has plenty of weapons at his disposal. I don’t think he’s totally necessary on a slate lacking must-have spend ups, but he’s in play.
Royce Freeman, RB, Rams ($4k)
This is another week 7 fantasy football sleeper I don’t think you absolutely have to play, especially if he ends up being chalk.
That said, Sean McVay is no stranger to running lesser talent into the ground. He gave Kyren Williams all the work prior to him getting hurt, and some may remember the time C.J. Anderson replaced an injured Todd Gurley and went ham.
Freeman is his most experienced running back at the moment, and L.A. historically avoids a committee approach.
The price and matchup are what we should be falling in love with him, as well as the possibility others are too scared to hop on this elite value.
Freeman isn’t safe by any means, but there’s no doubt he could be one of the best NFL DFS sleepers in week 7.
Jaxon Smith-Njigba, WR, Seahawks ($3.9k)
Of all the possible week 7 NFL DFS sleepers, JSN is easily my favorite.
He barely even feels like a punt, seeing as D.K. Metcalf is not 100% and we’ve seen the rookie’s role grow in recent weeks.
On top of JSN getting more work, he’s an elite talent going up against an Arizona defense that has struggled to contain wide receivers down the field.
That could obviously equate to a big day for a different Seahawks receiver, but the price compels me to bet on it being JSN.
Adding him to your week 7 NFL DFS lineups opens up a ton of salary for guys like Kupp or Kelce, too.
Michael Mayer, TE, Raiders ($2.7k)
While Kelce feels like a great spend up on this slate, one other week 7 fantasy football sleeper to consider for NFL DFS contests is Mayer.
The Raiders tight end has looked good lately, racking up seven catches on nine targets over his last two games.
This week he is in a great spot against a bad Bears defense, and he’ll be catching passes for a veteran who could opt to take advantage of shorter, safer routes.
If Hoyer ends up being a little conservative, Mayer could end up being a steal at this cheap price.
Kansas City Chiefs Defense ($2.4k)
This Chiefs vs. Chargers game has a high total and supposedly promises fireworks. However, it is a divisional tilt and the Bolts haven’t looked super sharp offensively lately.
That, and KC actually has a solid defense.
Kansas City is averaging over 8 fantasy points per contest, and have registered 10+ in three of their games on the year.
Given Justin Herbert’s struggles, a few sacks and a turnover or two are absolutely in play.
There are more fantasy football sleepers to take a look at for week 7, but the ones I’ve detailed above are easily my favorites.
Once again, this is not an amazing slate. It could be ugly, and I don’t think we need to forced all of these NFL DFS sleepers into the same lineup.
Of the lot, JSN and Mayer are easily my favorites. Good luck!
