NBA DFS Picks for Wednesday (1/31)

Another big NBA DFS slate is upon us on Wednesday, as DraftKings is pushing out a 9-game slate. There is a lot to like, but keep in mind with this many games that a lot of injury news is sure to break.

To get the ball rolling, I’ll go over my top plays and values for this slate, and then drop a video of a full slate breakdown later in the day.

For now, let’s go over my top NBA DFS picks right out of the gates.

Best Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks for 1/31

  • PG: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ($9.9k)
  • SG: Tim Hardaway Jr. ($6k)
  • SF: Kawhi Leonard ($8.2k)
  • PF: Paolo Banchero ($8.4k)
  • C: Nikola Vucevic ($7.5k)

This slate is not stocked with studs, so SGA has to be on your radar. Just keep in mind that he’s currently questionable to play, so you may very well be looking at OKC value before the night is through.

THJ is too pricey to be a true value, but he may be a core play, nonetheless. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are both out, so he may be unavoidable.

Kawhi and Banchero are both very much in play at their respective price points. They’re both too cheap and in smash spots. It might make sense to simply play the less chalkier player, but I don’t have an issue with rostering both.

Vuc also stands out as the best points per dollar center play. There are a bunch of good centers on this slate, but he is quite cheap and faces the lowly Hornets.

Top NBA DFS Values for Wednesday

  • PG: Jaden Hardy ($4.4k)
  • SG: Ayo Dosunmu ($4.6k)
  • SF: Michael Porter Jr. ($5.7k)
  • PF: Josh Green ($4.5k)
  • C: Kenrich Williams ($3.2k)

It’s a bit early to handcuff ourselves to too many value plays, but I’d say we can feel confident in the cheap Mavs guys. Hardey projects extremely well, and basically all Dallas guys are on the table here.

Obviously there is blowout risk (14 point dogs vs. Minnesota), but the savings are too alluring for me to care.

MPJ could look very nice in the event Jokic takes a seat tonight. He’s a fine play regardless, but I probably need The Joker out to fully commit here.

Ayo has hit in three straight games. Tonight he gets the Hornets, so there isn’t much logic to betting on him failing us now. Famous last words, to be sure.

Lastly, I should note a bunch of key Thunder guys are iffy for tonight. If any of them sit, guys like Kenrich Williams could be viable punts. Just keep in mind that OKC typically runs a deep rotation when their top players sits.

That does it for Wednesday’s NBA DFS picks. Thanks for reading and good luck!
