Best Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks for Thursday (2/1) – Top NBA DFS Plays at DraftKings

Yesterday’s NBA DFS picks were straight fire. I hit on several plays, including Kawhi Leonard and Nikola Vucevic.

The Mavs were not good values in the end, but they were still solid tries. Nikola Jokic being ruled out and then DeAndre Jordan not starting messed with my lineups personally, but hopefully my process and plays led you to some cash.

I’m back at it again on Thursday, so let’s dive into my favorite daily fantasy basketball plays for the DraftKings main slate on February 1st. If you’re looking for an extra edge beyond just my NBA DFS picks, consider signing up at DFS Hero.

Top NBA DFS Picks for 2/1

  • PG: Jalen Brunson ($9.6k)
  • SG: Donte DiVincenzo ($6.8k)
  • SF: Tobias Harris ($7k)
  • PF: Jaren Jackson ($8.3k)
  • C: Paul Reed ($6k)

Brunson has a massive role with Julius Randle on the shelf, and he enters the night with the slate’s best overall fantasy points projection.

DiVincenzo has smashed with extra usage lately, which has caused his price to spike. Josh Hart and other Knicks are also in play, but he still might not be pricey enough for his role.

The same goes for Harris, who smashed last time out and will be tasked with carrying a hefty load for Philly with Joel Embiid on the shelf.

Paul Reed also stands out, and virtually all 76ers are on the table in a nice spot against Utah.

There’s also JJJ, who has crazy usage for Memphis. The matchup stinks, but he’s still way too cheap for the ceiling he has to offer.

Thursday’s Best NBA DFS Values

  • PG: Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4.7k)
  • SG: Miles McBride ($3.1k)
  • SF: Simone Fontecchio ($4.2k)
  • PF: David Roddy ($5.1k)
  • C: Kelly Olynyk ($3.9k)

The value isn’t obvious on this slate yet, but Memphis continues to be a solid source of it. Pippen started and approached 30 fantasy points last game, but he’ll likely need Luke Kennard to be out again to be viable.

Miles McBride could be an interesting punt, as OG Anunoby and Quentin Grimes are both questionable for tonight. Both of those guys are viable plays if in, while McBride would be a fade if they play.

Fontecchio and Olynyk are volatile, but the Jazz run a deep rotation, and they’re cheap. Ideally we can move on to better values, but on this small slate, they’re on my radar.

Back to Memphis, Roddy is another guy that stands out, and there’s also GG Jackson. Roddy should get a start, so he’s firmly in play at a reasonable price tag.

NBA DFS Strategy for Thursday

We still need some news, but a big piece of it is what happens with Tyrese Maxey, and that’s the last game of the night.

If Maxey is in, he is a borderline core play for me, and his presence would sap some of the upside of other Philly guys. If out, those other 76ers options would be core plays, themselves.

I might just stack the late game and wait out the news, especially since the Celtics game is projecting as a blowout.
