NBA DFS Picks for Monday, 2/27/23

The NBA was blessed by greatness to close out the weekend. Nikola Jokic dropped in a monstrous performance, while Damian Lillard went absolutely bonkers en route to 71 points.

What does Monday have for an encore? Perhaps nothing close to that, as NBA DFS brethren have just four games to work with.

That said, the value is already staring right in our eyes, and I’ve got some NBA DFS picks that look too good to avoid. Let’s get into my favorite plays for this tiny slate at Draft Kings.

LaMelo Ball, PG, Charlotte Hornets ($10.3k)

Ball doesn’t need a hard sell. He’s been smashing lately, and he comes in with the best projection on the slate.

It’s a small slate, and we’re going to want to have some interest in his opponent; the under-manned Pistons. Of course, if you fear the upset, fading the pricey Ball could make sense.

Alec Burks, SG, Detroit Pistons ($3.5k)

Tonight’s roster building probably starts with Burks. He is dirt cheap for a guy who enters the slate with an insane 9.56 fantasy point per dollar projection.

Why? Because Detroit will be without key bodies like Bojan Bogdanovic and Jaden Ivy.

Burks tends to smash in these spots, while he and his Detroit teammates get to face a Hornets team that plays fast and struggles to defend.

You don’t have to play all of the Pistons, but I’d probably eat the chalk here with Burks.

Jayson Tatum, F, Boston Celtics ($10.2k)

This is a small slate, so you have a decision to make; pick the right stud to pay up for, or pair two viable elite options together.

Thanks to the value the Pistons offer on this slate, I tend to lean towards stacking two pricey studs.

Joel Embiid also factors into this conversation, but Tatum is more appealing with Jaylen Brown off the floor tonight.

Tatum is a DFS fiend no matter what, but his ceiling rises quickly without his teammate. He comes in with the third best projection of the slate, but it actually feels somewhat low.

James Wiseman, C, Detroit Pistons ($3.7k)

Lastly, I have a lot of interest in Wiseman. He started Detroit’s last game and notched a double-double, and should be getting all the burn he can handle tonight.

Maybe that was something we were headed for anyways, but he’s definitely looking at more minutes with Jalen Duren sidelined.

Wiseman was a bust with the Golden State Warriors, but he’s in position to thrive with the Pistons.

On top of the bigger role, he’s right there with Alec Burks in having the best matchup of the entire slate. I am sure stacking Pistons doesn’t feel great, but on this slate, the value and matchup is truly too great to ignore.
