Best NBA PrizePicks Plays for Friday, 1/27/23 – 6 Fantasy Props to Target

Friday’s NBA slate offers just five games, so I’ll focus on some fantasy player props over at PrizePicks.

You can apply some of my favorite plays to your daily fantasy basketball lineups, or you can just use them as needed at PrizePicks.

Of course, it’s up to you what to tail. You can play these picks individually, or stack them together in one big parlay.

With that, here are my favorite NBA PrizePicks plays for Friday.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 5 Assists

This prop total feels low for SGA. He averages 5.6 dimes per game, and it stands to reason that he could have a somewhat difficult time scoring on his own against a tough Cleveland Cavaliers defense.

Either way, he averages nearly six assists per game on the season. He also has been hitting the over here, with SGA generating 5+ assists in four of his last five contests.

Stephen Curry Over 5 Rebounds

You can get the same number with Chef Curry’s rebounds tonight. Incidentally, I love and prefer to target even fantasy player prop totals, so this one looks super clean.

Curry is a strong rebounder for a guard, entering the night averaging over six rebounds per game in 2022-23.

He’s also been in good form in that regard, with the over hitting in three of his last five games. I like his chances at hitting the over again tonight.

Jaren Jackson Jr. Under 2.5 Blocks

JJJ is going to be asked to do more for Memphis, especially since starting center Steven Adams is on the shelf for a good deal of time.

That’s not necessarily a good thing, however.

Jackson is notorious for his foul prone ways. That may mean fewer minutes, while hitting the over on a lofty blocks prop like this is a lot to ask for in general.

He’s a great shot-blocker (3.2 per game), but he’s failed to come close to that mark in his last two games. Oh, and he faces the Minnesota Timberwolves, who are among the NBA’s best (5th) at avoiding blocked shots.

Josh Giddey Under 17.5 Points

I mentioned SGA has a tough matchup with Cleveland, so you better believe I expect it to impact Josh Giddey, too.

Giddey is a solid scorer, but he won’t get a lot of easy baskets against Jarrett Allen inside. That could mean he hunts for other people’s shots more, or tries relying on his suspect outside shot (32% from three).

This is also a guy who averages just over 16 points per game, so anyone betting on the over is assuming he’s going to perform much better than he does usually.

Gary Harris Under 8.5 Points

Ditto for Gary Harris, who is not a major offensive threat, and yet PrizePicks has him priced to potentially score nine points tonight.

I don’t really see it happening. After all, the Magic are finally getting healthy again with Jonathan Isaac even back on the floor.

That, and Harris is historically a very erratic player.

Harris can get hot from long range, but he barely clears nine points per game for the season. I think it’s a good bet he finished under this mark tonight.

Grayson Allen Over 19.5 Fantasy Points

Lastly, I’ll leave you with Ted Cruz Grayson Allen, who has an enhanced role as a scorer with Bobby Portis on the shelf for the moment.

Khris Middleton is healthy again, but Allen still has a pretty stable role. He’s logged 23+ minutes in each of his last six contests, and he comes in averaging over 10 points per game.

Allen has also hit this over in four of his last five outings, too. I think he can keep it going against a weak Indiana Pacers defense.
