Top 3 Stacks for Daily Fantasy Baseball Lineups (DraftKings) – April 13, 2023

Sometimes using full MLB DFS stacks is ill advised. Yesterday was a daily fantasy baseball slate that went that route, but my top stacks performed well overall.

I touted the Cardinals, Mariners, and Mets, and those three offenses produced some solid numbers. St. Louis was the correct chalk, as it turns out, and if you mixed my stacks with the Arizona Diamondbacks, you may have had a shot at a takedown.

On Thursday, we get a tiny early slate, so the focus will be on a still fairly small five game slate at DraftKings. There are only 10 offenses to work with, so rolling out numerous daily fantasy baseball stacks may not be the way to go.

In fact, this could be another slate where full stacks isn’t the best strategy. Even so, I am digging these three MLB DFS stacks today.

Philadelphia Phillies

This is a pure ownership play at heart. Nick Lodolo may end up being the pitching chalk at DraftKings, and fading him entirely may be a bad idea.

He has a disgusting 30.9% K rate and the Phillies aren’t at full strength, after all. Dude’s good.

That said, this is a bad park for pitchers, and the Phillies have a lot of power. Lodolo can get in trouble with walks, and his issues come from the right side of the plate, as well.

Trea Turner, J.T. Realmuto, Alec Bohm, and Nicholas Castellanos all look appealing from the right side, and I’d finish my Phillies stacks up with the powerful Kyle Schwarber.

It’s a risky stack, but if Lodolo is chalky, I really like a sprinkling of the Phillies on this small slate.

Toronto Blue Jays

It will be interesting to see what the chalk stacks end up being. I tend to think the Reds will be up there, so at least for now, I don’t want to push them.

Cincy absolutely looks good at home today, but do we want to eat the mega chalk on a tiny slate? No, we do not.

Toronto could still be pretty owned, but it’s hard not to like them against Spencer Turnbull, who has pretty unattractive numbers across the board.

The Jays have loads of power, and in a small sample size, he’s been bad lately. He sports a really low whiff rate, he’s walking batters, and he gives up a ton of contact.

Maybe he snaps out of his funk here, but I have no problem stacking Blue Jays tonight.

San Diego Padres

The park isn’t the best and the Padres aren’t at full strength, but I like the matchup. San Diego is at home against Bryse Wilson, who does not miss bats and gives up a considerable amount of contact.

That could be a recipe for disaster against Slam Diego.

I know they’re not the team we’re used to seeing, but Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and Xander Bogaerts are a pretty nice trio to cap the night off with.

You can make it a full stack with Matt Carpenter’s insane .315 ISO against right-handed pitching, while the likes of Jake Cronenworth and Trent Grisham could round this stack out nicely.

Other MLB DFS Stacks for Thursday, 4/13

  • St. Louis Cardinals
  • New York Yankees
  • Cincinnati Reds
  • Milwaukee Brewers

You can’t stack everyone, and I don’t see the point of eating the chalkiest MLB DFS stacks on this slate.

The Yanks are always going to be in play, Milwaukee has a good matchup, and right now the Cards and Reds look to have the best matchups on the board.

If New York is coming in unowned, I like them a lot. If one of the Cards/Reds has low ownership somehow, you can take advantage and hop on a stack that should be chalky.

All of these are great stacks, but I like the top three I went over because they’re capable, in good spots, and might go overlooked.

Hopefully my breakdown of the top MLB DFS stacks helps you out today. Keep an eye on lineup news and any betting line movement before finalizing your daily fantasy baseball lineups at DraftKings!
