4 Best MLB DFS Stacks for Draft Kings on Wednesday, 4/19/23

The sun is out, the winds are blowing, and Wednesday has a sweet 10-game early slate at Draft Kings. It’s technically the main slate, but nothing beats tracking MLB games (and DFS lineups) while you work.

This is an interesting pitching slate, as Mad Max looks like the top option, but he’s on the road against the Los Angeles Dodgers. From there, you can consider basically every team for a stack.

But which MLB DFS stacks are the best for Wednesday? Here are the four I like the most.

Los Angeles Dodgers

This is a leverage play. Nobody will be rostering the Dodgers and Max Scherzer projects as the highest owned arm on this slate.

Is it risky? You bet. But you could also break the slate all at once here.

This is still the Dodgers we’re talking about here, too, while Mad Max has gotten himself into trouble in the early going in 2023.

There is a little revenge narrative with Scherzer facing his former team for the first time since leaving in free agency, too.

He definitely got back on track with a one-hit gem against the San Diego Padres in his last start, but facing the Dodgers could be a different story.

It’s risky and it could lead to utter failure, but if Mad Max is going to be as chalky as he projects, fading him and stacking L.A. sticks could be a baller move in tournaments.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Don’t have the stomach for the Dodgers? Maybe you can eat the hitting chalk and get different at pitcher and with your secondary stack.

I wouldn’t ignore the other team at Coors Field (Rockies), but the Pirates once again project extremely well. I like to fade Coors on bigger slates, but they’re tough to ignore for sure.

Today the Pirates get to face Austin Gomber, who has had massive trouble against right-handed bats.

Pittsburgh has some mashers in the lineup that thrive against southpaws, while the park obviously can help us out quite a bit.

The only thing not appealing about the Pirates is their likely ownership count. However, on a big slate like this, it’s arguable it doesn’t matter as much.

Texas Rangers

Weather plays a huge hand in deciding MLB DFS stacks, so you better not ignore the Rangers vs. Royals game, which features winds up to 20 MPH out to left.

Kansas City bats are very much in play here, but I prefer the matchup Texas has.

The Rangers are the more reliable offense in general, and they’ll face a guy in Brady Singer that gets hard (50%) from the left side of the plate.

He doesn’t walk many batters and he has a decent strikeout rate, so you’ll be banking on the Rangers’ many lefties getting to him with power. With the matchup and the wind, I’ll take my chances.

St. Louis Cardinals

As I said, there are a bunch of good MLB DFS stacks for this slate. However, when you can pick on Madison Bumgarner, it’s hard to pass up the opportunity.

This guy is not the elite pitcher he once was. He enters the slate with a disgusting 7.90 ERA. Mad Bum isn’t missing bats (15% K rate), walks too many (7.8%), and has gotten destroyed by righty power.

St. Louis could always fall flat in a pitcher-friendly park, but they have four guys that should be in the lineup with an ISO north of .331.

Goldy and Arenado look awesome today.

The Cardinals look like a filthy stack on this slate, and I’m not sure they’ll garner a ton of ownership with the wind in KC and Coors on the board.

Definitely check the ownership projections before finalizing your top MLB DFS stacks for Wednesday, but I think I’ll go a full five with St. Louis and then sprinkle in some chalky bats from Coors.

From there, we just need to decide what to do on the mound. Whatever you do, hopefully my look at the best daily fantasy baseball stacks helps you out. Good luck!
