Top 3 MLB DFS Stacks for Tuesday, 5/7

The best MLB DFS stacks will hop on a favorable pitching matchup early and never turn back. If you want offenses capable of putting up lots of runs, you need power and an opposing pitcher than can be had.

I see several spots where we should feel fairly confident about the offenses, but three stand out head and shoulders above the pack.

You can fire up a lot of different daily fantasy baseball stacks, but for upside and leverage, I’d start with these three on May 7th.

New York Mets

The Mets are visiting the Cardinals in a pitcher-friendly park, but they still grade out as one of the top MLB DFS stacks for Tuesday.

Why? Because they get to face the gas can that is known as Miles Mikolas. It’s worth noting that Mikolas did work the Mets to the tune of 18.6 fantasy points of his own back on April 26th, but this doesn’t feel like the spot to punt with him as your SP2.

Just look at how he’s done this year against left-handed bats (stats from RotoGrinders.com’s PlateIQ).

Not great, Bob. Or, um, Miles.

The point here is Miles gives up plenty of power and contact to the left side of the plate, while sporting just a 15% whiff rate against lefties. That, and the Mets have 5 viable left-handed hitters to throw at Mikolas on this slate.

Even better (or worse?) is the wind is blowing out to right tonight. Stack your Mets and thank me later.

San Diego Padres

The Cubs are coming in as the second chalkiest offense of this slate. Obviously they are viable, as the wind is blowing out at 10 mph at Wrigley Field.

They also have the better matchup in this game. However, that gives us leverage opportunity, as the Padres get the same benefit of the wind and are the 5th most owned stack.

With Slam Diego floating under the radar a bit, they feel like a fun leverage on the Cubs. Shota Imanaga has been good and isn’t a fun guy to attack, but pitching at Wrigley with the wind blowing out can make even the best arms seem human.

There’s a whole lot to like for the Padres here, but I’d obviously start with their power players like Machado and Tatis.

Los Angeles Dodgers

I don’t really need to talk you into the Dodgers. They’re probably one of the best MLB DFS stacks on every single slate, pretty much no matter what.

Of course, they’re going mildly overlooked with a game at Coors and another at Wrigley Field. I wouldn’t be too shocked for ownership to fluctuate to the point where the Cubs, Giants, and Padres are all far more owned they them.

The field might be making a grave mistake, if so.

L.A. is always in play, but tonight they get Edward Cabrera, who has a 18% walk rate versus lefties and a .333 wOBA. Those don’t add up to success against a lefty heavy squad like the Dodgers.

More MLB DFS Stacks for Tuesday

  • San Francisco Giants
  • Chicago Cubs
  • Seattle Mariners

If you want to ear the chalk, you can take solace in knowing that it’s at least flavorful tonight. The Giants grade out as the best MLB DFS stack, as they visit Coors and that game has 20 mph winds.

For GPPs, I’d personally prefer to fade the chalkiest offense. In fact, the Rockies are plenty appealing and they’re in that same game.

The Cubs are more chalk we can consider. When the wind blows out at Wrigley, I listen. The Cubs and Giants both look great. The downside is they’ll be heavily owned.

I’ll leave you with the Mariners as a fun leverage stack for tonight. Bailey Ober has not been consistent in 2024 and he’s pulling huge ownership at the moment. Seattle has some pop and they will be overlooked after being chalky in recent slates. I like them for tournaments.

That does it for my best MLB DFS stacks. If you roll with the options above, I’d imagine you’ll find some success. Then it’s just all about getting the right pitchers in your lineups.

Thanks for reading, and good luck!
