3 Best MLB DFS Stacks to Target at Draft Kings (5/17/2023)

Wednesday’s daily fantasy baseball slate is divided up, with five games on an early slate, and just seven on the main slate.

It’s a nice change of pace from some massive slates, but it’s also a bit more difficult to gauge. More specifically, you don’t necessarily have to issue full MLB DFS stacks on slates of this size.

And if you do, you better get them right.

That said, there are still 14 daily fantasy baseball stacks on the table here, so I’ll trim the fat and point you to the three that stand out the most to me at Draft Kings on 5/17/2023.

Seattle Mariners

The M’s disappointed last night, but they went ham the day prior, and they’re once again getting a big park upgrade at Fenway.

They also get to face Brayan Bello, who is a nice prospect, but has yet to put everything together. He’ll enter this matchup with a shaky 5.01 ERA, while he’s gotten obliterated by righties so far this year.

He’s also given up a dong in every start in 2023, so there’s that.

Seattle has four absolute mashers from the right side, and the rest of their lineup is dangerous enough in this spot to get behind.

Bello has been gaining some stream with three solid outings in a row, but I think there’s a good chance that streak comes to an end tonight.

Milwaukee Brewers

Don’t get me wrong, the Brew Crew figure to be in a tough spot tonight.

They have not handled southpaws well this year (27% collective whiff rate), and they get a bit of a K fiend in Matthew Liberatore tonight.

On paper, you’re firing up Liberatore here and never looking back. However, he isn’t expensive and the matchup looks good for him, so you’re probably looking at the chalk SP2.

This is an ownership play, to be sure, but the Brewers also have three dudes coming in with an ISO north of .219 in 2023, and they have several guys who have traditionally supplied solid power against lefties.

Tyrone Taylor, Willy Adames, and Mike Brosseau have all had success against left-handed hitting, and it’s even possible lefty smasher Darin Ruf gets tossed into the mix tonight.

Liberatore is a guy you’ll want exposure to, but Milwaukee is an excellent hedge stack and a string of bats nobody will be on.

Houston Astros

One more MLB DFS stack to confide in – and arguably feel considerably better about – will be the Houston Astros.

This should be a fairly chalky option, as Houston will be at home against the beatable Drew Smyly.

I speak historically, of course, as Smyly has actually been solid in 2023. He did get blown up in his first start of the year, but he’s been a tough customer ever since.

He is due for an unraveling, though. He struggles more against lefties this year, but the Astros have the traditional edge, and this is a powerful lineup that can have a lot of success against southpaws.

Houston has five bats in the projected lineup with an ISO north of .250 against lefties, so there’s little reason not to fire them up.

There are surely more MLB DFS stacks to look at, as there are 11 other teams I didn’t touch on. However, you can’t stretch yourself too thin.

Milwaukee looks like an intriguing leverage stack, while Seattle and Houston could be good chalk on this slate. Hopefully my daily fantasy baseball stacks serve you well.

Thanks for stopping by, and good luck!
