Best NBA DFS Picks for Friday (2/2)

Last night’s NBA DFS picks were straight fire, as Jalen Brunson and Tobias Harris smashed, while Pippen, Olynyk, and even Miles McBride were all solid value plays.

You probably needed Jaxson Hayes and maybe even Precious Achiuwa to hit it big last night, but hopefully my daily fantasy basketball picks helped you out.

Tonight’s slate is nine games, and while a lot of news could change things, it pays to get a head start on the competition. Here are my favorite plays for the day at DraftKings currently.

Fred VanVleet, PG, Houston Rockets ($6.9k)

FVV has not been awesome lately, but he has a few things working in his favor. For one, he’s at home with a solid matchup against his former Raptors squad. This is the first time he’ll be facing them, so it makes sense that’d he’d get up for this game.

He’s also really cheap, projects well, and could offer a higher ceiling than usual in the event Alperen Sengun can’t play.

FVV’s recent play is worrisome, but he checks every other box tonight. He’ll be chalky, but he could be good chalk.

  • Best Expensive PG: SGA ($9.9k)
  • Best Value PG: Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4.9k)

Bradley Beal, SG, Phoenix Suns ($6.5k)

I am rarely enamored with Bradley Beal, as he is very much third fiddle behind Kevin Durant and Devin Booker. He’s gotten to the point where he’s too cheap, however.

Tonight he faces a bad Hawks defense in a game with a massive total, so he does shape up as a stellar mid-range play. Given that he is set to be quite chalky, I can understand the fade, however.

That said, Beal gets plenty of burn and the matchup demands our attention.

  • Best Expensive SG: Devin Booker ($9.9k)
  • Best Value SG: Kevin Huerter ($5.2k)

Brandon Ingram, SF, New Orleans Pelicans ($7.7k)

Ingram is a really nice price and should project well in the event Zion Williamson is out. It is unclear what his status will be for tonight, but as things stand, Ingram pops.

He’s viable even if Zion is in, but Pels would be worth prioritizing if Williamson sits this one out. For now, I prefer cheaper SF options, but Ingram could easily end up being a core play before the night is over.

  • Best Expensive SF: Miles Bridges ($8.5k)
  • Best Value SF: Lu Dort ($3.9k)

Jonathan Kuminga, PF, Golden State Warriors ($6.2k)

Kuminga is way too cheap. He has been crushing, churning out 34+ fantasy points in each of his last seven games. Klay Thompson will be back after being a random scratch in his last game, but that shouldn’t change things.

The reality is that the minutes and usage are way up for Kuminga, and his price doesn’t yet reflect that. A date with the Grizzlies isn’t very troubling, so at this price, I am fine going all in tonight.

  • Best Expensive PF: Wemby/KD ($9.3k/$9.2k)
  • Best Value PF: Naji Marshall ($3.9k)

Victor Wembanyama, C, San Antonio Spurs ($9.3k)

Wemby stands out as perhaps the best play of the slate, at least especially up top. There are some other studs to look at, but he is still way under-priced given his immense ceiling.

The minutes limit is still annoying, but Wemby has logged at least 30 minutes in three straight games. Considering what he can do in his time on the floor, we should jump at that. Wemby has 49+ fantasy points in seven straight games and gets a Pels team he dropped 50+ on earlier this year.

  • Best Expensive C: Domantas Sabonis ($10.4k)
  • Best Value C: Santi Aldama ($5.8k)

That wraps up my favorite NBA DFS picks for Friday. Keep an eye on injury news and final starting lineups before committing to your builds. Thanks for reading, and good luck!
