Top NFL DFS Picks for DraftKings – Best Plays for the 2024 NFL Divisional Round

Round two of the 2024 NFL playoffs has arrived. The Super Wild Card Round did not disappoint, and hopefully you exited the first stanza of this year’s playoffs with some winnings.

Either way, you’re back for more come the Divisional Round, and DraftKings is offering a nice four-game main slate. Keep in mind that this slate does span over the full weekend, but getting a four-game schedule makes it feel like a normal NFL DFS experience.

So, who are the top plays for this week? Join me as I break down my favorite NFL DFS picks for the Divisional Round of the 2024 NFL playoffs.

Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions ($6.3k)

Goff is my favorite fantasy passer on this slate. His game has a great total and could end up being a shootout, but even if it’s not, he has perhaps the best matchup on Sunday.

Tampa Bay’s run defense is good, but they get torched through the air. On the season, the Bucs rank 25th against fantasy quarterbacks, and Goff will be at home, where he’s averaging 22 fantasy points per game this year.

The matchup is a smash spot, Goff thrives at home, and it’s a massive game that could put Detroit into the NFC title game. On top of all that, Goff is just the sixth most expensive passer on this slate, despite being less than a full point out of the third spot in terms of raw point projection.

Goff also doesn’t project for crazy ownership, with a good chunk of the field flocking to Josh Allen or Lamar Jackson. Take advantage of that this week.

Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers ($8.8k)

I don’t love the running back options on this slate. As we get deeper into the NFL playoffs, we’re working with mostly good defenses, and several of the live teams have very tough run defenses.

Tampa Bay, San Francisco, and Detroit all specifically are nasty up front, so I don’t see anyone as a major priority at RB. Save for C-Mac, of course.

He’s been an absolute monster all year, after all.

There’s nothing about this spot that is scary. Green Bay’s defense has performed better over the last few weeks, but this Niners offense is a different beast.

On the season, Green Bay ranks just 20th against fantasy backs, while McCaffrey can honestly crush in so many different ways. Whether the 49ers roll and he’s racking up easy rushing yards and scores, or they play catch up and he piles on the receptions, he’s going to get his.

Factor in the absurdly cheap price tag for his upside, and McCaffrey is an auto pick for me this week.

Jameson Williams, WR, Detroit Lions ($3.6k)

Amon-Ra St. Brown is also an amazing play, but he’s the priciest wide receiver on this slate, and also happens to be the chalkiest.

That doesn’t mean you can’t stack him with Goff, but I’m thinking of going a little more contrarian and maybe fading him. Insert the speedy Williams (and more).

Detroit is facing a strong Tampa run defense, while the Bucs have not been good (24th) at stopping fantasy wide receivers this year. We saw that front and center with DeVonta Smith crushing them on Monday.

The Lions are at home and have a better offense than Philly did in that game, so I have even more confidence in what Detroit can accomplish through the air here.

With the Bucs hopefully focused on slowing down The Sun God, perhaps the explosive Williams can be featured a bit more. His role has been growing down the stretch, and it only takes one big play to pay off his cheap price tag.

The best part? He’s clocking in at around 12% ownership, so he won’t be chalky.

Sam LaPorta, TE, Detroit Lions ($5.9k)

I’ll stick with the Lions again here, as I love this passing game stack and completing it with an overlooked LaPorta feels right.

LaPorta suffered a knee injury a couple of weeks ago, but he shook it off to score a touchdown last week. On Sunday he gets an awesome matchup, as the Buccaneers also stink at stopping tight ends (31st).

You’re looking at fantasy football’s #1 tight end in PPR leagues as a rookie. This guy has already arrived, and the Bucs won’t have much of an answer for him.

What’s better? His price, his recent injury, and a solid tight end group look to keep his ownership low.

San Francisco 49ers Defense ($3.4k)

I don’t put much stock in predicting fantasy team defenses, but the 49ers feel like the top play here. Detroit also stands out, but the NFC’s #1 seed will not take Green Bay lightly after seeing what they did to the Dallas Cowboys.

San Francisco does not give up major production and is a tough draw for the Packers across the board. I can see the 49ers limiting Green Bay’s offense, getting a few sacks, and forcing a couple of turnovers here.

More NFL DFS Picks for Round 2

  • Josh Allen, QB, Buffalo Bills ($8k)
  • Isiah Pacheco, RB, Kansas City Chiefs ($6.4k)
  • Mike Evans, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers ($7.2k)
  • Dalton Kincaid, TE, Buffalo Bills ($4.8k)
  • Detroit Lions Defense ($3.3k)

There are only four games in the Divisional Round, so you probably need to just take some stands and stick to them. I really like the Lions on this slate, so I am building around them.

That said, Josh Allen is a stud and I can see Buffalo winning this week. He projects the best at the quarterback position, and with ownership split, he is very appealing.

C-Mac is the only running back I really have eyes for, but Pacheco has a solid matchup. He’s probably the second RB I turn to on this slate.

Evans is a solid comeback option if you’re stacking Lions like I am. He was quiet last week, and we all know Detroit struggles (30th) against wide recdeivers.

Kincaid is a solid value if you’re not into spending at tight end. He did a good job last week and could stay very involved if Gabe Davis is out again or limited.

Defense remains a crapshoot, but the other defense beyond the 49ers I like is Detroit. I just don’t trust Baker Mayfield in a second playoff game, and he’s been a turnover machine in the past.

That does it for my top NFL DFS picks for the week. Good luck!
