NBA DFS Picks for Sunday, 1/29/23
Sunday is admittedly all about football. If you’re looking for some insight as to how to score a takedown in that department, head to our NFL DFS picks page.
That said, there is still a three-game main slate to work with on Draft Kings. It also happens to be laid out pretty nicely for us.
But which options should be in your core to get the ball rolling? Find out with my top three NBA DFS picks for Sunday night.
Jose Alvarado, PG, New Orleans Pelicans ($4.6k)
T.J. McConnell is in a similar spot to Jose and is a very good play. The problem? He’s now almost $7k on Draft Kings.
You can consider pairing the two together in your daily fantasy basketball lineups, but I’d first prioritize Alvarado with news that C.J. McCollum will miss tonight’s contest.
Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson are also out, so Alvarado is going to be extremely busy in this one.
As things stand, he isn’t very owned. I’d expect that to change for a guy projecting for literally the best points per dollar average on a three-game slate.
Terance Mann, G/F, Los Angeles Clippers ($4.1k)
Another must-have for me on this slate is Mann. It will be very interesting to see where ownership goes given the insane amount of value on such a tiny slate, but he still feels like a must.
He’s cheaper than both T.J. and Jose, and yet he’s probably the best play of the trio. He should carry a hefty workload with both Kawhi Leonard and Paul George resting tonight.
Mann’s per minute averages actually do not blow you away with PG-13 and Kawhi off the floor, but he’s going to play a ton and have the ball in his hands a lot.
You can also look to Norm Powell and Ivica Zubac, but price is also a major factor here.
Giannis Antetokounmpo, F/C, Milwaukee Bucks ($11.6k)
I also would love to get to Ja Morant here, but if you’re picking a side, I’ll take The Greek Freak.
Many will pick between the two, but there’s honestly so much value that you may not have to. That sad, Giannis has the safer floor and the better overall ceiling.
He should go a bit overlooked compared to Ja, as well, considering he’s significantly more expensive.
That does it for Sunday’s NBA DFS picks. I’d start your roster building process with these three guys, and then make the call as to whether or not you’ll also try to cram in McConnell and/or Morant.
