5 Best MLB DFS Stacks for Friday (6/14)

Friday offers up a 12-game MLB DFS slate. It will be difficult to get the right combination of pitching and MLB DFS stacks right on a slate this size. Heck, even if you do, it may still not be enough.

Chris Sale leads the way on the rubber, but all of the appealing pitchers are in dicey spots. That also means some of the usually alluring daily fantasy baseball stacks aren’t so obvious. We have a Coors game on the slate, too, which complicates matters even with some weather hitting the park.

But what are the best MLB DFS stacks to target? I’ll break down my favorite five and why.

Toronto Blue Jays

The Jays have been a disappointment yet again in 2024, but they do still have a talented offense. The projected lineup only sports a collective .120 ISO versus lefties, but they don’t whiff (15.7% K rate) and they get a good amount of walks.

I think the power could still come into play here. Today they get Logan Allen, who has allowed 5 homers in his last three games combined. He has been no stranger to the long ball in 2024, allowing a ghastly .263 ISO to right-handed hitters.

Allen’s K rate also drops from 26% to just 17% when facing righties and his walk rate is approaching 9% on the year. He’s also getting hit hard (56% hard hit rate) against that side of the plate. I don’t love the power numbers for the Jays, but their righties still pack a punch and this matchup sets up well for them.

Milwaukee Brewers

The Brew Crew pack a solid punch with a collective .153 ISO versus right-handed pitching.

I’m already sold, but they also walk a ton. Five of the guys in their projected lineup have walk rates at 9% or higher and they’re facing a dude who issues free passes routinely. Greene can make lefties miss at a 29% clip, but his whiff rate drops to 22% versus righties and he’s walking both sides of the plate at a 9% rate or worse.

I’ll admittedly have exposure to both sides of this one, as Greene is only $8.3k and the Brewers whiff 24.5% of the time. However, his .180 ISO to righties and dangerous walk rate is a lethal combo against this offense in this park.

Pittsburgh Pirates

Normally I ignore Coors because it’s guaranteed to carry ownership, but 12 games is a different beast. Things could level out pretty easily, and even though these bats will be owned, they won’t be nearly as chalky as usual.

This game is also due for some bad weather, so keep that in mind before committing to them. That said, it’s a game in Coors and the Pirates see a massive park upgrade here. They don’t offer a ton of reliable pop (.125 ISO), but they get Ryan Feltner (.207 ISO vs lefties) in a dream spot.

Pittsburgh only has four projected lefties at the moment, but the matchup and park are enough to get me interested.

Arizona Diamondbacks

Another MLB DFS stack I love today is Arizona. I could stop at the fact that they face Chis Flexen. Seriously. He’s been better of late, but he is gas can material and gives up a lot of power.

We need that if we’re stacking the D’Backs, as they have pop in general, but weirdly provide just a .125 ISO against righties today. I still like them, as they don’t strikeout that much, they walk a ton, and Flexen is a dream matchup.

I do wonder if their ownership will be super inflated. Flexen is a popular guy to target and AZ went bonkers last night. Even so, Flexen is allowing a disturbing .295 ISO to lefties on the year and that’s something I want to exploit.

Seattle Mariners

I always like picking on Andrew Heaney, who has a history of getting abused by solid righty power. He’s allowing a .172 ISO against right-handed bats in 2024, while he gave up .203 last year.

The Mariners aren’t a fun offense to go up against when you have power issues. They have a solid .159 ISO against lefties and they walk at a 9% clip. Heaney is walking lefties a ton, which doesn’t really help us, but the power issues are prevalent and the matchup is far from a cakewalk.

Heaney himself is a little appealing thanks to the Mariners missing balls at a 27% rate, but I prefer the Seattle side of this one by quite a bit.

Other MLB DFS Stacks for Friday, 6/14

  • Cincinnati Reds
  • Texas Rangers

Two other MLB DFS stacks I like are the Reds and Rangers. Freddy Peralta isn’t a guy I like picking on, but he’s going up against a fairly powerful offense in a troublesome park. He’s also the most owned pitcher at the moment. If that holds, there’s a lot of logic to being under-weight on Freddy and stacking some Reds.

Texas bats also look OK here. Luis Castillo is a solid pitcher, but Texas is not an easy draw. They have some pop in their lineup, and they also could throw up to five lefties Castillo’s way tonight.

That might be bad news, seeing as Castillo has struggled against that side of the plate (.203 ISO, 18% K rate) on the year.

Okay, no more stacks from me. I have highlighted my top MLB DFS stacks for Friday, and even gave you two more to consider. Thanks for reading, and good luck!
