Top MLB DFS Stacks for Friday (5/24)
There could be a lot of offense to be had on Friday. That gives way to some pretty obvious MLB DFS stacks. A slate featuring Coors Field will do that, I reckon.
Of course, the Philadelphia Phillies are coming in as the chalkiest stack for that very reason. While they’re forever in play due to the park factor, it’s an 11-game slate. It might make sense to look for other opportunities.
If you’re with me, let’s fade (or go under-weight) on Philly and look for some other advantageous daily fantasy baseball stacks for DraftKings’ 5/24 main slate.
Los Angeles Dodgers
L.A. comes in as the third highest-owned stack at the moment, and admittedly they’re basically tied for second. However, they do have a 5.46 implied run total, they aren’t the top chalk, and they’re the freaking Dodgers.
More importantly, their matchup is good and they’re in perhaps the best ballpark in the majors for scoring.
Tonight they face Graham Ashcraft, who isn’t awful, but doesn’t handle lefties well.
None of that is good against a lefty god squad like the Dodgers. I don’t love that they’re still going to be pretty owned, but I love everything else about them. Fire’em up at DraftKings.
Colorado Rockies
If everyone is on the Phillies, I’ll pivot to the Dodgers. But since a lot of people are also on the L.A. bats, we can go deeper and just stack the other side of that Coors game.
Normally that would still equate to copious amounts of chalk eatery, but Colorado sticks are being massively overlooked. The Rockies obviously aren’t great, but they benefit from this park just like everyone else.
The Rockies are also just the 7th highest-owned offense on this slate. I won’t waste your time trying to pick apart Christopher Sanchez here (who is equally viable since Colorado stinks), but if an offense in Coors isn’t going to be highly owned, I have serious interest.
Minnesota Twins
I don’t know what it is about Minnesota, but I almost always have some level of interest in them. I certainly feel that way tonight, as they’re at home in a solid park for hitting and get to face Jose Urena.
Urena isn’t always a gas can and so far in 2024 he’s held it together against lefties. However, he sports a weak 15% whiff rate and in 2023 had a .255 ISO vs. lefties. He was actually worse against the right side of the plate, so the Twins look appealing here.
A collective .192 ISO is a big reason why. The Twins admittedly strikeout a lot, but the power against Urena in this park is too good to bypass. Minnesota carries a healthy 4.73 implied run total and project to be rather overlooked.
Milwaukee Brewers
My last MLB DFS stack for Friday will be the Brew Crew. Milwaukee isn’t facing a bad pitcher in Kutter Crawford, but they do have a decent amount of power and they get to go swing for the fences at Fenway.
That’s enough to get me interested, plus the Brewers have a decent 4.33 implied run total, and don’t figure to be chalky in the least.
Crawford isn’t normally a guy I’d go out of my way to pick on, but a 43% hard hit rate against lefties could be problematic here. To make matters worse, winds are blowing out to right at 11 miles per hour.
I’ll start my Brewers stacks from the left side, please and thank you.
Top Stacks for MLB DFS on 5/24
That does it for my favorite MLB DFS stacks for Friday. Obviously the Phillies look like the top offense, but I don’t love eating the top chalk and fading them immediately makes my lineups different.
Besides, it’s not like stacking Coors has been a fool proof strategy lately. That, and there are plenty of other offenses to fall in love with.
The Dodgers are the most logical pivot, but even they should carry ownership. Because of that, I’ll be getting plenty of exposure to the Twins, Brewers, and Rockies.
Hopefully my top MLB DFS stacks serve you well. Good luck!
