4 NFL DFS Sleepers to Target for Super Wild Card Weekend (2023)

I already prepped you for this week’s batch of NFL playoff games. You can hit the link for my 2023 NFL Wild Card DFS Picks.

You can go up in a lot of spots this week, as six games offer loads of star talent in marquee matchups. It is the playoffs, however, so there will be some duds, and you obviously can’t afford everyone at Draft Kings.

Depending on how much you want to pay for the big names, though, you will need some salary savers at some point. To help you find some of the best value, let’s look at my four favorite NFL DFS Wild Card sleepers.

Daniel Jones, QB, New York Giants ($5.6k)

I highlighted Tom Brady in my 2023 NFL Wild Card DFS picks, but you can actually shave off $200 and just roll the dice with the Konami Code himself.

Danny Dimes may have earned himself a huge contract as he prepares to make his NFL playoff debut against the Vikings, who he dropped 24 fantasy points against in a tight 27-24 finish two weeks ago.

Jones is known for his rushing ability, too, and he reminded everyone of that in week 17 when he ran for 91 yards and two scores. He rested up last week, but closed out the year with 36 fantasy points in his last outing.

On the year, he’s simply been a lot better than anyone has given him credit for.

The playoffs can make life tougher on quarterbacks, but he still has an inviting matchup against a suspect Minnesota defense that allowed the 6th most fantasy points to quarterbacks in 2022.

Eli Mitchell, RB, San Francisco 49ers ($4.7k)

All of the attention will be on the ultra expensive Christian McCaffrey this week, but the playoffs aren’t really about feeding one guy; they’re about winning.

San Francisco does have a great matchup against the Seahawks (28th vs. RBs), but the Niners will probably run a lot, and they also won’t put the entire burden on one dude.

C-Mac may be a tough fade, but if you do go away from him, his teammate might be an elite leverage play. Mitchell finally returned from injury last week, and quickly took advantage of five touches, turning them into 55 yards and two scores.

McCaffrey did carve up Seattle (28.8 fantasy points) earlier this season, but he’s not quite 100% and Mitchell gives the 49ers a reason to take it easy on him. Don’t be too shocked if Mitchell has a big game here and returns major value.

Gabe Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills ($4.8k)

There were big expectations for Gabe Davis in 2022, and he’s failed to meet them. You wouldn’t really guess it by looking at his 48-836-7 stat line, but after blowing up in a crazy playoff clash with the Chiefs last year, he was supposed to be a rising star.

Instead, Davis has been super inconsistent, with a huge amount of his production coming from one wild ride in week five (171 yards and 2 TDs).

All that said, Davis has the speed to go off here. He remains a palatable price, and the Dolphins have been a middling unit against wide receivers.

There are some major studs at wide receiver on this slate, so Davis will likely go overlooked. Given his penchant for big plays in huge moments, he probably shouldn’t be.

Richie James Jr., WR, New York Giants ($3.9k)

There are other punts worth considering. Tyler Boyd is another good option, there are cheap tight ends like Dalton Schultz and Dawson Knox, and there are a few backup running backs that could save you cash.

I’ll leave you with a stacking option to pair with Daniel Jones, though.

That’d be none other than Richie James, who has come on strong lately, putting up 17+ fantasy points in three of his last four games.

James in particular found success against this Minnesota secondary a few weeks ago, when he turned 11 targets into eight catches for 90 yards.

James should be busy again in a plus matchup, and he’s quite simply too cheap for his role.
